When cropping a photo, you are really taking an image full of pixels and zooming in on a certain set of pixels and making them larger. If you have ever used the photo printers at a drugstore and cropped a picture, you probably noticed that your photo looked like crap afterward. I use software that crops photos but still retains image quality. These two images are actually the same image. It was taken with my smartphone, so no zooming magic was used.
